Congratulations goes out to Tommy Hair who won The
2nd YDP Charity Fishing Match held at Redwood Park near York. The series of three matches are being organised to raise funds for the Smiley Riley Fund and Prostate Cancer UK. Match two was fished on Redwood Lake with Tommy fishing from peg 14. He fished pellet feeder to the island weighing in 4lb 4oz of silvers and 25lb of Carp giving a total weight of 29lb 4oz. Second placed Dave Bargewell fished Peg 32 netting 10oz silvers and 24lb 14oz Carp (total weight 24lb 14oz) using banded pellet fishing shallow using jigger method. Mark Miller took 3rd place fishing pole at 5 and 7 meters with pellet on one line and dead red maggots on the second weighing in 8lb 5oz silvers and 16lb 4oz Carp (total weight 24lb 9oz). Paul Chappell took 4th place fishing peg 21 and weighing in 9lb of silvers and 13lb 12oz giving a combined total of 22lb 12oz. Thanks to the guys at Redwood Park for allowing us reduced fishing rates and to all who entered the event. The running total raised so far from the two charity fishing matches is £832.00 which is fantastic. Some of this figure does include some of the peg sponsorship taken in for the York Railway Pond match but does not include any of the entry fee's for that match. The next and final match in the series is being fished at York Railway Pond on Saturday 7th October 2017. Draw for pegs is 9am with the match being fished 10am to 4pm.
