York's Chris Quantock became the first player, during the 2017 Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championships, to win two Ranking Events defeating Stuart Limbert 5-2 in the Event 9 final held at Huntington WMC in York. Chris won with legs of 19-14-15-18 and 13 which included 5 x 180's whilst 17 and 13 dart legs were Stuart's replay also adding a 180 score.
In the Semi-finals Quantock beat Jim Gordon 4-0 with legs of 14-16-17 and 17 whilst Limbert (19-18-15 and 15) defeated Mark Lawrence (13 plus 1 x 180) 4-1.
In the Quarter-finals, which contained an abundance of darting talent, Quantock whitewash Richard Yates 3-0. Yorkshire's Gordon beat PDC player Terry Temple 3 1, Lawrence, who has won one Ranking event in 2017 been beaten in two finals and two Semi-finals defeated England International Brian Dawson 3 1 and Limbert won 3-1 over Cleveland's Alan Edwards.
The highest checkout of the day came from Dave Copley with a 161 finish. the Furthest Lady Prize was won by Jo Hodges after 4 way shootout and the Furthest youth was shared between Tom Dawson and Ryan Lea.
Blind pairs winners were Chris Quantock and James Weldon with runners up Steve Vine and Josh Clough.
