York's Chris Quantock carried his current PDC Tour form into the 7th Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championships Ranking Event 4 held at Huntington WMC in York by defeating event 2 winner Mark "Nitro" Lawrence 5-4 in the final.

The event organised in Association with Red Dragon Darts and York Print saw Quantock, who has qualified for the televised stages of the Coral UK Open Finals in March, defeat Lawrence (12-20-15-15)  with legs of 21-17-19-15 and 16 darts with both players hitting a maximum.

Chris went out in 18-15-11 and 17 darts to beat Justin Hobson (20-19-16) 4-3 in a tight semi-final match both adding 180's whilst Lawrence (20-14-17 and 15) won his semi 4-2 over Event 1 winner Darren Johnson (13-17).

In the Quarter Finals Quantock hit 2 x 180's and a 177 score in legs of 15-17 and 17 to defeat Simon Cass 3-1 the same margin by which Johnson (18 and 2 x 180's) defeated Trevor Day. Lawrence (18-12 and 18) battled his way to a 3-2 win over Stuart Limbert (15-17 and a 180) with Hobson whitewashing Richie Corner to complete the quartet of matches.

As usual there was an abundance of legs under 21 darts and 180's scored with Quantock leading the way in both. There were a total of 32 x 180's recorded during the course of the day with Quantock hitting nine with Stuart Limbert and Jaron Esteve scoring four a piece. Jo Hodges also adding one for the ladies.

Within the total of 116 legs of 21 darts or under Quantock had 2 x 11 dart legs which were the fastest of the day followed by Lawrence's  2 x 12's with Quantock, Mark White, Justin Hobson (2) and Darren Johnson hitting 13 dart legs close behind.

Lawrence took the £25 highest checkout prize with a 161 finish during the final which were added to a 136 and 128 finish he had hit earlier in the day. Simon Cass 126, along with Steve Cuppit and Trevor Day 116 achieved other ton plus finishes.

Hodges won the furthest lady prize whilst Adam Pearce collected the furthest youth prize after a 9 dart throw off.
